Clarkesville, GA – At the August Board of Directors meeting, two new members were officially sworn into office by Judge Chan Caudell.
Representing Franklin County on the Board is Rebecca Stovall. Ms. Stovall’s extensive background ranges from manufacturing to technology to higher education. “I am an advocate for technical colleges,” she said. “I am interested in moving education forward in this area and offering guidance to align the business community needs to the hands-on experience of our students.”
Mark Rasmussen from Rabun County likewise brings both a corporate background along with a passion for advancing education. As Vice President of Business Operations at Tallulah Falls School, Mr. Rasmussen has been a part of the progress that school has experienced during the last five years. “I’m delighted to be here, and I appreciate the opportunity to serve the community through North Georgia Tech,” he said.
“We are grateful to Mark and Rebecca for their willingness to contribute their time and talents as they join our board,” said NGTC President Dr. Gail Thaxton. “This college will face many challenges during the year, and with the board’s guidance, we look forward to celebrating just as many victories.”
The NGTC Board of Directors meets the third Wednesday of every month and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the college.
