Blairsville, GA – The 2nd Annual State of the Community is designed to provide you with well-rounded and informative speakers to update you on the current state of Union County. This year we are fortunate to have Ms. Carol Hayes, President of the Northeast Georgia Board of Realtors, speak to us about the current state of real estate in Union County. How many cash sales have processed and how many foreclosures are we dealing with? Having just returned home from a 23,000 strong Realtor Rally promoting home ownership, Ms. Hayes will fill us in on the current state of the Flood Bill, the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac status, along with short sale and foreclosure issues.
Mr. Mitch Griggs will be educating all of the attendees on the current economic climate of Union County. The Development Authority has been working on a variety of initiatives including the North Georgia Network which is providing a 260-mile regional fiber-optic ring delivering the fastest and most dependable broadband service to our area. Additionally, Mr. Griggs will update us on other economic activities and announcements for projects that have landed right here in Union County.
Finally, Ms. Cindy Williams will give an update on the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. She will present an overview of the year to date and a sneak peek into some exciting upcoming events for the remainder of the year. Ms. Williams will also take the opportunity to unveil our newly founded Buy Local program, The BEST of Union County! You won’t want to miss this year’s meeting. If you want to be in the know about your Community this is the most important event to attend.
