Young Harris, GA – Young Harris College President Cathy Cox has proclaimed April to be Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Awareness Month in conjunction with Support in Abusive Family Emergencies, Inc. (S.A.F.E). President Cox urges all citizens to participate in activities and programs that focus on efforts to end sexual assault and child abuse.

S.A.F.E. is a non-profit organization funded by the State of Georgia, various United States federal agencies and by local contributions. S.A.F.E.’s mission is to provide support, advocacy and emergency shelter for victims of domestic abuse, child abuse and sexual abuse, regardless of gender, and to heighten community awareness of such abuse in Union and Towns counties.
