Cleveland, GA – Accomplished distance runner Korey Harkins from White County has signed a letter of intent with the North Georgia Technical College Cross Country Team.
Last year, NGTC became a new member of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for Cross Country sports.
Harkins, who ran Cross Country for White County High School, is anticipating a great season. “I’ve always wanted to run for a college,” said Harkins. He plans to take the technical studies curriculum, with a long term goal of pursuing a career in physical education.
Korey had teamed with current NGTC runner Steven Ortega while the two were in High School together. When Harkins won the NGTC Homecoming 5K last fall, it was Ortega who suggested he join the North Georgia Tech team.
Korey lives in Cleveland with his parents Phillip and Sheena and brother Kolin.
