Bits of this and That

Astonishing, asinine or both?

The National Labor Relations Board’s move to prohibit the Boeing Corp. from expanding their operations to South Carolina because that state is a right to work state is neither astonishing nor asinine.  It’s a message that organized unions and labor have complete control over Obama and his administration.  The proper descriptive adjectives are treacherous and foreboding.

8.3 % unemployment rate?

That’s what the U.S. Labor Department reported as the latest unemployment rate for America.  Get the connection?  Notice the word “labor” in the reporting agency name?  That rate is a joke, a lie by the Labor Dept. and misleads citizens into believing the economy is improving.  Ha!  Millions are unemployed.  The rate is higher than when Obama took office. Millions have given up looking for work.  Millions more are underemployed.

Big labor continues it’s attack on America

In Wisconsin Democrats continue their assault on common sense and anything that is good for America.  This time, they have gathered enough signatures to force a recall vote on Governor Scott Walker.  Led by unions, they are attacking every official that voted for reforms to head off bankruptcy by the state.  These reforms have saved the taxpayers tens of millions of dollars and rescued the state from a budget crisis.  What did Walker do to raise the ire of unions?  He made hard but necessary choices to balance the state budget without new taxes or  deficits.  Taxpayers realized a miniscule .3% property tax increase, the smallest in the state since 1996. Isn’t it encouraging to know that labor unions always attack those who are successful in helping  taxpayers and local governments to save money

It’s a draw

Even though more and more scientists are proclaiming that man-made global warming is a hoax, the science is not clear enough to prove the point either way.  That is why anything associated with global warming remains a theory and not proven, scientific fact.  Last year the temperature of the earth reached the second lowest reading of the century. We haven’t been reduced to toast yet.  America does not need to overact to the doomsayers of the world, spending billions upon billions of dollars in an attempt to alter God’s creation.

Newt’s ethics violations

Much ado has been made of Gingrich “resigning in disgrace” because of ethics violations. Never happened according to the facts.  Gingrich resigned two years after the ethics brouhaha.  In an interesting twist, Gingrich’s second wife appeared on TV to destroy his candidacy.  At the same time she defended his time as Speaker and said he acted in an ethical way and did not deserve a fine for ethics violations.  “He was wronged by these investigations”, she said.  Never-the-less, Romney continues to pound away at Gingrich on this issue.

Nature calls

Another “international crisis” has erupted as a video surfaced showing Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban insurgents.  This “inhumane action” prompted calls for court martials, life imprisonment, and other “appropriate” punishments.  This is a war crime they scream.  What!!  Isn’t this the same Taliban who’s method of operation is perpetuating atrocities.  Isn’t this the same Taliban that beheads its enemies, disfigures women and children, hangs headless bodies from trees so that all can see, straps bombs on children, rapes women, burns entire families alive and dances around mangles bodies?  Those arereal war crimes. The American media, liberals and others need to temper their over-reactions and learn there is a balance to life.  Subjects such as this need to be put in their proper perspective.  What is worse, urinating on a dead body or urinating on international law and basic morality?
